Muslim Council of Montreal to hold Montreal wide Mosque Open Doors

Montreal, Quebec, October 3rd, 2012- The Muslim Council of Montreal (MCM) extends an open invitation to the Montreal community to partake in its city wide Mosque Open Doors event, taking place at number of mosques in the Montreal area on Sunday October 7th, 2012.


“The Open Doors event is a unique opportunity for members of different religious and cultural groups in Montreal to come together,” said Salam Elmenyawi, president of MCM. “Together we can build bridges of social cohesion in our communities, embracing and promoting feelings of respect, understanding, peace and goodwill.”

Visitors will be given a tour of the mosque, as well as be able to view presentations and displays on various topics. Volunteers will be on hand to answer visitor’s questions. As the mosque is a religious institution, visitors are requested to dress modestly and remove their shoes when entering the prayer room.
