Answering the questions about humanitarian aid to Gaza, who, how and what?

January 30, 2009
Assalamou alaikoum wa rahmatou Allahi wa barakatouh,

In the last few weeks many questions were raised as to through who can we send the humanitarian aid to Gaza? How can such aid enter Gaza, especially at the time of war and blockade? What kind of aid would be the best for the inhabitants of Gaza?
Last week, number of our imams met or spoke to the directors of two well known humanitarian organisations in Canada, IRFAN and HCI.

After reflecting on above questions and number of other issues with IRFAN, we came to the conclusion that this organisation is doing a very good job in Gaza, wa alhmdou lillah. The required priorities were also discussed, and a promise was made that the issues we raised, like rehabilitation and building of peoples life, which we care about the most, will be addressed efficiently with a high priority and urgently now.

We also spoke with the director of HCI, and same issues were raised, his written response is attached hereby for your consideration, I believe it's self explanatory.

I hope this feedback will help all of you realise that the donations we transferred to these organisations and any donations we will be directing to them are being used in a good way, wa alhmdou lillah.
