COMMUNITY MOSQUE TO HOLD OPEN HOUSE

September 20, 2003

The Muslim Council of Montréal (MCM) extends a public invitation to the Montréal community to take part in the Open House of Assunna Annabawiah Mosque, Sunday September 21st, 2003.

"Our mosques are always open to visitors of all religious faiths and cultures; however, this is a special opportunity for us to open the channels of communication in an atmosphere of goodwill," stated Salam Elmenyawi, President of the MCM.

"We hope the Montréal community will assist us in fostering a relationship of respect and understanding."

Members of all religious and cultural groups are invited. Lectures and workshops will be held throughout the day to help clear misconceptions about Islam and Muslims. Refreshments will be served.

As the mosque is a religious institution, visitors are requested to dress modestly and remove their shoes when entering the prayer room. Photo and interview opportunities will be available.
